In the early hours of today, an organization known as Save the Nigerian Students, started a campaign on all social media platforms tagged “Say no to loss of an academic year” and a lot of students are already out there trending the campaign.
It appears as if students in Nigeria themselves don’t like the idea of staying at home for a whole year, all in the name of a global pandemic, they are all eager to go back to their respective learning institutions.
It should be noted that the Federal government announced the closure of all schools and higher institutions in early April, which has resulted in all students staying at home for over 3 months now.
the Federal Government’s cancellation of WASSCE 2020, seems to be an indication that students might not even resume till the end of the year. This explains the reason students have now mobilized themselves, to campaign against this idea of losing a whole academic year.
