The University of Lagos, UNILAG, schedule for this year's Matriculation of new students has clashed seriously with Valentine Day.

Usually, Valentine Day is an occasion where student tend to express love and all, not just students alone as it cut across all adults who wish to express love to their partners.

But as planned by the prestigious university, the week leading into the Valentine Day has been set aside as new students' orientation week.
The week long programme is billed for February 10 - February 16 and coincidentally, the Matriculation Day falls on February 14th of the same week. This week has been declared lecture free for freshmen across all departments and faculties.

Over 15,000 students are expected to be matriculated into nine Faculties on the day, not forgetting the college of Medicine too.
This week is also to get the new students up to speed with what they should know and how to live and learn in the school community hence so many activities are always put in place for them to have absolutely knowledge of the school and modus operandi.
