Professor Aliyu Thanks NAN and Claims Maiduguri is Now One of the Most Peaceful State Capital

The vice chancellor of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) identified as Professor Aliyu Shugaba has now shown gratitude to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) for their transparent and fair reportage of the institution's affairs during the peak of terrorism and banditry in the state.

While reacting to Aliyu's vote of thanks, the Managing Director of NAN in the person of Mr Buki Ponle reassured him of the agency's stand in providing credible reportage that it was known. Ponle also seized the opportunity to mention that the agency has offices in the 36 states of the country and in some foreign countries too.

Furthermore, Shugaba explained that the institution remained open and continued to function even at the apex of insurgency in the state. He also claimed that Maiduguri is now amongst the safest state capital in the country and that the busy activities the state was known has returned.

However, Aliyu didn't fail to express sympathy to the individuals who lost their loved ones and properties over the 12 years period of great insurgency in the state.
