Miss Paula-Peace Onyinyechi, a graduate of the Department of Biochemistry, College of Sciences, on Friday led 201 other students of Covenant University to clinch first class honors at the 15th Convocation Ceremony and Conferment of Honourary Doctorate Degrees and presentation of prizes at the school in Ota.
She emerged the best graduating student, with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.98.
793 students graduated with second class upper honours while 595 others had second class lower.
75 students graduated with third class.
254 postgraduate students also graduated during the 2019/2020 academic session.
Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Abiodun Adebayo, said the institution was training future leaders who will proffer solutions to the problems bedeviling the country.
He urged the graduands to go out into the world and bring change to the country.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Chancellor of the institution and founder of Living Faith Church, David Oyedepo, cautioned youths against the excessive use of social media.
According to the Cleric, addiction to social media causes youths to loose focus and robs them of their destinies.
