“Forget Bursary, It Won’t Make Any Difference In Your Life,” Wike Tells Rivers Students

His Excellency Nyesom Wike who is the incumbent governor of Rivers State has told students to forget the payment of bursary, as it will not make any difference in their lives. This statement came in the wake of the recent outcry of students in the University, over unpaid bursary.

Speaking at the commissioning of the National Union of Rivers State Students (NURSS) national secretariat which was established by his administration, Gov. Wike retrospect that during his time as a student of the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State University, and the Nigerian Law School, he never for ones heard of anything called bursary and neither was he paid any.

The bursary is a grant that is being given to University students from Rivers state, to enable them to study and live comfortably in school.

The governor encouraged students leaders, to lobby for projects such as the NURSS Secretariat, instead of clamoring for bursary that is “irrelevant”.
