In the early hours of today being Monday serious matter arouse in the Lagos State University, Ojo Campus. When the members of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities NASU and Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU, stopped and banned the Prof Olanrewaju Fagboun the amiable Vice-Chancellor of the University and Students from gaining access to the premises.
It was provieded that the action was as a result of the unfulfilled promise made by the Lagos State Government a year ago which is non-payment of increment in salaries of the union members.
This came up when the heels of resumption has been earlier announced by the Lagos state Governor, Sanwo-Olu Babajide for tertiary Institutions to commence on 14th September, 2020. And some of the student were to resume today.
The Trouble started today being Monday as early as 7am in the morning as the union members took over the entrance of the university premises from the assigned security personnels and shut out both vehicular movement and human from going into the premises. All the efforts by the Vice-Chancellor to stop the protesters was all void.
