The Oyo state Teaching Service Commission OYO TESCOM has fully activated its portal for those that had applied in February through its zonal offices across the state to input their basic information and upload their scanned credentials for further step in the recruitment for the fiercely subscribed posts available.
The job posts which were announced early this year attracted over 60000 applicants from within the state and beyond. There were pandemoniums in the centres when TESCOM directed applicants to visit his offices for hardcopy forms. This development attracted the governor's intervention who then ordered the forms be provided online for download.
TESCOM also intended to collect #1000 per form before the governor stopped the intent and ordered that forms be given free of charge. Thanks to Gov. Makinde!
When the cast was finally thrown, a lot of people downloaded the forms, filled but still faced struggles to submit. This was because one still had to submit at those zonal offices so the offices still welcomed crowds 'stretching' little spaces in the vicinities of those offices for opportunities to submit.
At the end, the struggles were put on hold by the outbreak of the pandemic that forced government to close public institutions including TESCOM and schools alike.
But with gradual lifting of lockdown and restrictions in the country now, TESCOM saw it an opportunity to continue the programme and ordered those that had applied through form submission to visit its website jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng/tescom to register with phone numbers they submitted during the application period.
The exercise was initially scheduled for July 13 to July 20 but for some technical issues best known to TESCOM, it was shifted to July 16 to July 22 Wednesday.
But TESCOM took a proactive step on Friday with the release of some communication channels in case you have problems in the course of registering, uploading of documents, or inputting your data on the application portal.
Those communication channels are:
The channels of communication listed above was released by the Chairman of the commission himself, Pastor Akinrinade Alamu, while featuring on a radio programme in Ibadan.
Pastor Alamu confirmed the activation of the website and stated that it was designed to make the process easy but in case an applicant still faces difficulties, he should reach out to the technical persons on ground to assist.
Visiting the portal, I personally discovered to the site was designed end, make te process smooth and is very client friendly, even on phone. Just use your Chrome browser for good experience.
Recall that TESCOM is the commission in charge of secondary education in Oyo state. It supervises activities in those schools, assist government in hiring and firing of teachers.
TESCOM has six zonal offices across Oyo state: Ibadan 2, Shaki, Oyo, and others.
So if you have difficulties or anything not clear to you about the application process, kindly use the listed channels and you would be helped as promised by the Commission Pastor.
Thanks for reading the post.
