In a bid to curb youth restiveness while positively engaging young people in productive enterprises, the government of Cross River State through the Special Adviser to the Governor Ben Ayade on Inter-party affairs (South), Comrade Dunamis Archibong, has commenced the second phase of the training of young persons in vocational skills.
The training which took off at the Calabar South Council headquarters in Anantigha had youths in their numbers participating in the event where there will be trained in various skills such as decoration, confectionery, Barbing, beading etc.
According to the organizer of the training, Dunamis Archibong, the skill acquisition is a continuous scheme designed to train youths across political parties in the southern senatorial district of the state through collaborative sponsorship with the various local government councils and craft enterprise.
Archibong, further added that the training will will also strengthen the inclusive spirit of His Excellency Sen. Prof. Sir Ben Ayade and in turn, enhance governance, community policing and social life of the citizenry as the trainees will be certified and equipped vocationally to make ends meet.
He therefore, called the traditional, religious and political leaders in Calabar South which he described as stakeholders to synergies with 100% support of the visionary, supersonic and quintessential Governor of Cross River State towards great results and success.
The grassroot politician, thanked the Queen of Calabar South Local Government Area, Hon. (Mrs) Esther Bassey for being accessible, very supportive and approving the flag off venue (Council Hall) for such a wonderful gathering of both female and male gender. He reiterated that the scheme was birthed by his quest to curb youth restiveness at the grass root level and promote peaceful coexistence within political parties.
In his words; "This scheme wouldn't have been possible if not for Governor Ben Ayade's benevolence which handed me the rare privilege to serve in his-led administration. This training which is for all youths in Calabar South across political parties affiliation will go a long way in curbing youth restiveness at the grassroot while promoting peaceful coexistence among political parties.
I call on all beneficiaries to take this training seriously, because their level of success is premised on their level of passion and creative inputs in their various skills during training."
He went ahead to appreciate Prince Emma-South Fashion Designer who sacrificially trained the previous batch of youths last year 2020.
During the motivational charge by the invited guests, Mrs Gift Oqua - SA Women Affairs (South) stressed that effective participation will transform the trainees mindsets against unrest as only idle mind can become a devil's workshop.
Thereafter, Comr. Ekeng Effiom - SA Community Matter, encouraged the participants to be serious and courageous. While Mr Emmanuel and Mrs Victoria Ifere Secretary Young Leadership Front, who spoke on behalf of all the facilitators advised the participants to develop passion at heart to drive the needed success while emphasizing on the need for female beneficiaries to acquire specific skill before getting married as it will enable them assist in their homes independently than becoming liabilities.
