FG To Decide School Resumption Date After Giving School Owners 12 Days To Meet Guidelines (Details).

The Federal Government, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, has given school owners and stakeholders in the education sector an opportunity to meet specific guidelines for the safe reopening of schools in the country.


According to the Federal Government, they have twelve (12) days to make this possible, that is, they have till 29th of July to complete the task.


According to the instructions given, all schools are to undertake self-assessment and must send their respective feedbacks to the Ministry of Education in the respective States not later than 29th July, 2020.


This information was released today Friday, 17th July, 2020, by the Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba.


He explained that the official date for safe reopening of schools nationwide will be communicated to the general public ones the stakeholders have put all the guidelines in place.


Hon. Nwajiuba also explained that the Federal Ministry of Education is currently working with the Federal Ministry of Health, the Education in Emergencies Working group, and the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) to see to the reopening of schools, and to ensure that all protocols that will safeguard the lives of all students across the nation will be put in place.
