Etok eulogy was delivered on Monday, October 5, at Fortune school, while marking the global day of teachers.
The frontline educationist and Jinx breaker member of the three Nigeria’s legislative Chambers used the occasion to announce a 50% reduction on school fees in his institution while commending the teachers of Fortune Schools, guardians, and parents for their co-operation during the outbreak of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
He also promised to do everything possible towards the improvement of teachers and student welfare.
According to a statement issued by the media unit of the institution, Senator Etok noted that the theme for this year’s Teachers’Dayy focuses on the innovative use of technology for the professional development and mentoring of teachers in times like this.
“The issue of teacher leadership in relation to crisis responses is not just timely, but critical in terms of the contributions teachers have made to provide remote learning, support vulnerable populations, reopen schools, and ensure that learning gaps have been mitigated.
“He hinted that the discussions surrounding World Teachers’ Day will also address the role of teachers in building resilience and shaping the future of education and the teaching profession”.
