COVID-19: Tech-U Rolls Out Hand Wash, Sanitizer (Photos)

True to Prof. Ayobami Salami's words that the First Technical University, Ibadan, under his watch will produce self-reliance students of great academic quality, the university has rolled out its hand wash and sanitizers, as their contribution to the fight against Coronavirus.

Ayobami has earlier revealed on a radio program that in addition to the watchable face masks the university has produced and donated to Oyo State Governerment, it would also embark on some research to produce two types of ventilators (digital and mechanical) to help reduce the death rate of Coronavirus.

The above achievements are not the first of First Technical University, Ibadan, some of its 300Level student are presently on contract employment of an international organizations.

Also, the university recently signed a collaborative degree programme agreement with Girne American University in Cyprus.

First Technical University, established under the former governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi-led administration, is owned by the Oyo State Governerment with donations from CBN and some other international organizations.

The university kicked off in 2018 with the regular study period of between four-five years with two faculties; Faculty of Engineering and Technology and the Faculty of Natural sciences.

It also has 15 National Universities Commission (NUC) accredited courses and a language centre where French is compulsory for every student as a second language. Every student is mandated to take two skills in any field of artisanship along with any course of their choice and must be certified in such skills before they graduate.
