It's been seven years now since Nigerian students got on the Guinness Book Of Record for brushing teeth at the same time. In 2013, about three hundred thousand Nigerian students from public schools in Lagos state brushed their teeth the the same time. This was the first time such a high number of poeple will brush their teeth at the same time and thus they won the Guinness Book Of Record For their activities.
The Nigerian students were gathered from about 600 hundred public schools in Lagos state. This event was organised by Nigerian Dental Association(NDA) in partnership with Lagos state government. The largest gathering was at Teslim Balogun Stadium but there were other centres where students were made to gather for this historical event.
The students set the record for brushing their teeth simultaneously for one minutes across the 326 locations in Lagos state. it was a beautiful event to behold as the students knelt down and were captured with various cameras for record purposes.
In 2007, India holds the record for 177,003 people brushing their teeth at the same time. However, the Nigerian students were able to smashed the record from India after the 2013 event. Nevertheless, another record was set in 2019 by Kalinga Institute Of Social Sciences (KISS), India. They set the record on November 7th 2019 as the most people brushing their teeth at the same time in a single location. This was achieved with 26,382 number of people.
Moreover, Guinness Book Of Records are ways of doing things in a special way or to beat a previous record. It is always a great feeling to have such record. Aside putting the nation on a positive part, it also brings out creativity in people. We hope in the nearest future, more records will also be set by Nigerians.
