Read the profile of NDDC MD that fainted during probe, he is a Doctor, Professor and Microbiologist

Remember yesterday, on July 20th 2020, Niger Delta Development commission (NDDC) boss fainted during an ongoing probe of the commission.

The name of the NDDC boss is Daniel Kemebradikumo Pondei, he was appointed by President Buhari as the acting Managing Director of NDDC on February 19th 2020. He is a Medical doctor, Microbiologist and a Professor. He took over from Joi Nunieh who is from Ogoni and she is a Lawyer too.

Academic Achievement:

Daniel Pondei hails from Bayelsa State, he attended his secondary school at Federal Government college, Portharcourt. He then became a doctor after studying medicine and surgery at the University of Lagos. Pondei didn't stop there, he then attended the University of Nottingham and got his doctorate degree in Microbiology.


After getting his doctorate in Microbiology, he then became a lecturer of Medical Microbiology in the College of Health Science, Niger Delta University. He rose from post to post in the institution. He became the acting head of the department, then to acting dean of the faculty and then the provost of the institution.

Now being the Managing Director of NDDC, he was summoned by the House of Representatives, over the allegations of 1.5billion naira of financial misappropriation in the Commission, during the probe he suddenly fainted and couldn’t respond to questions from the chairman of the probe panel. Professor Daniel Pondei then leaves the panel after feeling unwell and could not continue with the questions.
