On Tuesday 14 September 2021, students of the University of Benin, blocked the Benin-Lagos express way and the Ekheuan road over a N20,000 late registration fee which was imposed by the school authority.
The students of the school were not happy with the fine imposed despite the hardship that is happening in the society.
In a statement issued by the school registrar, Mr. Ademola Bobola, Salami ordered all students to vacate their hostels and the school premises not later than noon on Wednesday.
The vice Chancellor of the institution ordered the closure of the school for security reasons. This is to prevent the activities of hoodlums in the school.
Well, what are the students of the school going to do now. Was there any other way to have handled the situation on ground?
