The Requirements You Must Meet If You Want To Study Microbiology In Higher Institution

You must be a science student with sound background in science subjects, if you want to study microbiology in Nigerian universities. This dream can only be possible if you meet the requirements for microbiology course. In this article, I have rolled out all the requirements a candidate should possess before he/she can be granted admission into the University to study this course. Remember microbiology is a very competitive course to study in the University, so failure to meet these requirements will result to automatic disqualification. This article will list all the O'Level, A'Level, JAMB UTME and POST UTME screening requirements needed for admission into any Nigerian universities. So for you to avoid difficulties in securing admission, keep reading this article.

1. Your O'Level result must have have at least 5 credit passes that should not be more than two sittings. This credit passes must be English, mathematics and three other science subjects. Below are the subject you should choose in case you don't know.

Physics, chemistry and biology.

Your O'Level result should be either WAEC, NECO, or any other approved result. So now that you know the subject combination for microbiology, let's move to JAMB UTME and direct entry.

2. The general JAMB UTME threshold mark is 180 but for a competitive course like microbiology, I will advice you to attain above that. The JAMB UTME subject combination for microbiology is; English, physics, chemistry and biology, no mathematics this time around.

3. The University POST UTME screening will arrived, and you will be required to take part of the exercise. At this stage, you will have to pass the departmental POST UTME exercise. Microbiology departmental threshold mark for some Nigerian universities is 250, but you can score above that. Once you are able to score above that, your name would be on the merit list.
