The Rector of the institution, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, who stated this on Saturday in Ogwashi-Uku, alleged that the two students were involved in cult-related activities.
She said, “The two students, Justin Ometan (male) with matriculation number COM/ND/18/10126, Department of Computer Science and Jonald Ometan (male) with matriculation number FDT/ HND/18/0015, Department of Foundry Engineering Technology, cease to be students of the institution with immediate effect.
Worthy of note is that, recently, there has been a growing concern from the society regarding the astronomical spike in cultisim related activities across tertiary institutions in the country.
While some students join this occultic group voluntarily, others are coarsed, brainwashed or intimidated to join.
Besides, it was gathered that the major reason why students go into this group is to feel powerful and untouchable on campus.
Many of them used the confidence they derive from joining the group to intimidate their colleagues, especially the female ones.
They tend to beat up anyone one they perceive has disrespected them and snatch girlfriends of other students, with intimidation that they can't do anything to them.
Moreover, oftentimes, their major victims comes from newly admitted students who are yet to understand the nitty gritty of how campus life runs.
Their modus operandi is to make friends with them first, and after a while coarse them to joining a group/club that would make them look powerful or respected on campus.
However, in the end when their are rival cikt group clashes, they kill themselves untimely and sadly, some are killed on important days in their lives, like graduation day, wedding bday, among others.
Consequently, it is adviseable for parents to always guide their children who are about to go to the tertiary institutions or those who are already undergraduates.
However, do you think there's any benefit of joining cultists group ?
