After much deliberation, the Federal Government, and the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) have come into an agreement to shift the supposed date for the forthcoming West African Senior School Certificate Examination, which was earlier announced to be 4th of August to 5th of September, 2020.
This information was disclosed by the Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, today Friday, 17th July, 2020 in Abuja.
In his explanation, he made it known that the officials of WAEC in Nigeria will further meet with the other four countries participating in the examination to propose a new examination date.
The Minister, thus, addressed all parents across the country to be rest assured that the Federal Government is working as much as possible to ensure that the lives of their children/wards are protected, and that the reopening of schools will be made possible as soon as possible, so that students can start take classes for their respective external and exiting examinations.
