After the governor of Lagos announced the resumption dates for school activities in the state, many students have since gone back to school after months of waiting to resume.
However, the government excluded resumption for pre-primary pupils in private schools while public school students below JSS 3 (for junior students) and students below SS 2 (senior students) and primary school students, were not allowed to resume to ensure that social distancing could be enforced.
As students continue their daily activities and everyone goes about their normal duties, the government has been able to make an important decision and if you are in this state, which is Lagos state, I believe that this information will be very useful to you.
* The government has finally allowed all school pupils and students in public schools to resume.
She announced that the students who have not been allowed to resume will now finally be able to resume on the 19th of October this month.
This information is coming after students in these classes were prevented from resuming with the JSS 3 and SS 2 students.
*Concerning the resumption of pre-primary children, the government has also given its word.
According to The Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, children who are in pre-primary classes can now resume their education.
This is coming after children in pre-primary classes were denied resumption to ensure that the country was safe enough before letting these young ones resume their education.
The resumption date for these classes is also the 19th of October.
*Some federal schools in Lagos state have also begun to resume.
Schools like Yabatech have already begun academic activities, though the process of learning is not as before. According to a memo passed around the school, the resumption date for the school is the 12th of October.
Students would be resuming in phases and the time for school closure has also been reduced. I am of the Opinion that when other schools resume, they may follow this format.
*Also, note that Coronavirus is not completely out of the country.
Do well to put on your face masks or face shield, wash your hands or sanitize them to kill any harmful organism that might be attached to them.
