Ever since the start of the Covid pandemic, all schools across the country has been shut down. It has been over three months now and students have been at home doing nothing. This has been a very difficult time for them, especially those ones in SS3 who had plans of writing their Senior Secondary School exams (WAEC) this year.
The West Africa Examination Council, WAEC was slated to hold in May and June of 2020 but here we are in July and there still isn't hope as to whether the exams will hold this year. About two weeks ago, the government announced that the WAEC exams will be holding in August and September but the announcement was reversed and the exams postponed till further notice.
This is why I am suggesting in my own humble opinion that since the government cannot risk the chance of the Covid-19 virus spreading among students, they should devise plan that will enable these students write their exams at home. If the problem with this is that how can the students be supervised then I suggest that the parents stand as supervisors and invigilators for this students. We're running out of time, 2020 must not be a waste. This plan is very good and i think it is what deliberating over.
