This is how primary school kids will enjoy home grown feeding programme (see photos)

The Home grown feeding Programme in collaboration with the Lagos State Government through the Universal Basic Education Board and all stakeholders in the basic education sub sector has started distributing food stuffs in the state.

Nigeria is among the countries that launches Africa's largest national school feeding programme​.

Nigeria’s National Home Grown School Feeding Programme was formally launched by the country’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo together with Federal and State ministers and school feeding stakeholders.

The HGSF programme is part of a 500 billion Nira funded Social Investment Programme brought by the Buhari administration to tackle poverty and improve the health and education of children and other vulnerable groups.

Lagos state has lunched their first Home grown school feeding Programme for primary school kids.

The chairman of Lagos SUBEB said that the palliative measure is part of the presidential directive for the homegrown school feeding programme.

The chairman of Lagos SUBEB Hon. Wahab Alawiye-King disclosed this on Thursday, May 14, when he visited the warehouse where the food palliatives were kept in Ikeja.

He noted that government agencies have been working relentlessly for the past weeks to ensure that the directive is carried out hence the reason for the monitoring of the exercise.

The programme is under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Home Grown School Feeding Programme in collaboration with the Lagos State Government through the Universal Basic Education Board and all stakeholders in the basic education sub sector.

Allaying the fears that the programme might be sabotaged, the Executive Chairman noted that the beneficiaries have been identified and verified.
