During the year 2020 edition of World Teachers Day Celebration, President Muhammadu Buhari announced a new welfare package for the Teachers which include a new salary scale as well as the increase in the number of their years of service from 35 to 40 years while their retiring age increased from 60 to 65 years.
These promises were received with much enthusiasm by the entire Teachers believing that this will be implemented without any delay.
365 days after, the promise by the nation's number one citizen is yet to be fulfilled after a much enthusiasm by the by the entire Teachers who had put in their best in developing other fields of the economy while their own land remain barren .
The non implementation of these welfare packages as Promised by Mr President during the year 2020 world Teachers day celebration has lowered the morals of the Teachers, which can negatively affect their level of productivity.
Quite disheartening that few days ago, the minister of education announced that the implementation of the new teachers salary structure will commence in 2022, which will be two years after the package was announced.
With yet another promise to motivate the best brains into the teaching profession with the announcement of a bursery awards to students who are undergoing educational courses, a prompt Implementation of these promises to the noble teachers and the students alike, will energize them to be more Committed to their duty and studies respectively.
