Meet The First Female Vice Chancellor In Nigeria

The first ever female Vice Chancellor in Nigeria is Professor Grace Alele-Williams. She hails from Warri, Delta State. She became the Vice Chancellor of University of Benin. She is a Professor of Mathematics Education.

She attended Government School, Warri and Queen's College, Lagos. She later proceeded to the University College now University of Ibadan.

She obtained a Master's degree in Mathematics and her Ph.D in Mathematics Education from the University of Chicago (U.S) in 1963.

She was born in December 16, 1932 as an educator who made history as the first Nigerian female Vice Chancellor at the University of Benin. She was the first Nigerian woman to bag a doctorate degree.

She was indeed a woman like man as she was able to stem the tide of cultism in the University of Benin in her days as Vice Chancellor. She made impact that the University community would not forget in a long time to come.
