Breaking: Another northern governor shuts schools, imposes dusk-to-dawn curfew

Another northern governor has reportedly shutdown schools and imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in the state.

Following the increasing rate of attacks and abduction of school pupils, students and even teachers in schools across Zamfara state, the State government announced a dusk-to-dawn curfew on 13 local government areas of the state.

The Zamfara state commissioner of police, Ayuba Elkana, disclosed this in a communique issued by the governor of the state, Bello Matawalle, on Wednesday, 1st September 2021, in Gusau, the state capital.

According to Elkana, the 6pm to 6am curfew would take effect immediately as all the schools in the state would be closed until further notice. She added that, the order is part of measures by the state government, to tackle the growing issues of banditry and kidnapping in the state.

Recall that, Bandits recently, abducted an unspecified number of students of Government Day Secondary School, Kaya in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara state. And Maradun happens to be the home town of Governor Bello Matawalle.
