Lagos State To Feed Schoolchildren With N11bn

On Monday, the Lagos State Government said that it will feed school children with N11bn. It was reported that the money will be used for its Snacks for Thought programme.

The state government said that its Snacks for Thought programme is to support the school feeding program of the federal Government that only covered pupils in primary one to primary three. The state government also added that its snacks for thought programme will take care of school children from the crèche and primary four to primary six.

Princess Aderemi Adebowale, the Special Adviser of the Office of Civic Engagement, made this known to newsmen on Monday while celebrating the second year of Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in Alausa, Ikeja.

While speaking, she disclosed they the will programme will cost N11bn for the government to handle and the government will also partner with some organizations to run it.

Many Nigerians have raised concern that the N11bn should be used to provide free education adding that the parents of the children will feed them.
