The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board ( JAMB) has instructed all tertiary institutions to launch the first- and second-choice admissions from August 21st.
In the 2020 admission guidelines published by the board Spokesperson, Dr Benjamin Fabian in Abuja, the board issued the instruction.
Dr. Fabian cautioned organizations against duplication of forms in the guidelines, adding that they would refrain from selling forms for entry to such programs mentioned. He urged institutions to encourage applicants through his office to apply for the services, adding that the Central Admission Processing System requires all admission exercises. All applications for First Degree entry, National Diploma, National Innovation Diploma and Nigeria Education Certificate in full-time, distance learning, part-time, outreach, sandwich, etc. shall be processed only via JAMB.Institutions wanting to place advertisements will do so by recommending applicants who have qualified for the new Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination to change their institution as their first preference, rather than requiring candidates to buy or apply for another application form.
"This is to prevent the issue of double registration which violates the mandate of the JAMB," he said.
