Federal Government Colleges are high schools created as Unity Schools for Nigerian wards in order to foster national integration among diverse ethnic inclination so that a one Nigeria project is realised.
Despite the schools' high profiles, many Nigerians still do not know that such schools exist on this Earth. Some that know do not know how they could register their children for such schools and see those schools as exclusively built for the children of Nigeria's elites.
Though the schools require commitment from parents, they are not that expensive schools and are meant for all Nigerian wards irrespective of social status in the society.
For year 2021/22 session, registration into those schools has commenced. And the process starts by visiting the official website of the National Examinations Council, NECO, then, register or login in (if you had been registring wards previously) as a parent or Headteacher/guardian interested in registering his/her ward/students for Unity Schools.
Hence, pay online a registration fee of Two thousand five hundred naira for the registration. Fill in the form made available with ward's bio-data and submit the form.
The next step is to prepare those wards for a competitive exams which covers Mathematics and Science and Technology, National values, Verbal aptitude, and others. The exam has two papers and is expected to come up in May 2021.
Parents registering wards are to note that three choice schools are to be selected in the online form. One school in three geopolitical zones of choice.
Registration is purely online, no paper submission or need to visit schools. NECO conducts those exams and candidates who pass the exams are selected for schools.

If you have wards in primary six or basic five, according to how you call those classes in your areas, you may register your ward for Unity school examinations. Just know that eligibility is that wards must be finalists in primary schools.
