This was after the approval of Rabiu Samaila as the substantive registrar of the institution and Mohammed-Bello Gurin as the new bursar by the Governing Council after a Joint Council/Senate meeting on Friday.
The two principal officers are to serve for one tenure, five-year duration
Auwal Umar, the Director of Public Affairs Directorate of the university, disclosed this in a statement.
Abdullahi Kundila, the immediate past registrar, ended his tenure on the 12th of June, 2021, after spending five years.
Both appointments take effect from when they assume duties.
Rabiu Samaila had served as the Acting Registrar and Secretary to the Council of ABU on two different occasions in 2014 and 2016.
The newly appointed bursar, Gurin, was the Bursar of the Federal University, Gashua, Yobe State. He was secondment from ABU.
On June 6, 1988, Gurin started working as an Assistant Chief Clerical Officer (Accounts) in ABU and rose through the ranks to become Deputy Bursar.
