The Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)involves the official assessment of candidates' academic competencies before they are formally considered for admission to study their respecrive programs in the chosen higher institutions.
Furthermore, the Post UTME screening are expectedly based on oral interview and the screening of the qualifying documents.
However,JAM Board has officially exempted some categories of candidates from writing the Post UTME examinations due to alleged challenges that may put them at disadvantages if they are to write the examinations.
1. Foreign Candidates
2. Physically disabled Candidates
However, recent news reports have indicated that Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has reportedly substituted the Post UTME examinations with O’level and UTME screening options.
The replacement of Post UTME,according to the sources from the institution, is due to large number of applications and the need to abide by the Covid-19 guidelines of the Nigeria Federal Government.
If the development is true, what then will happen to the money allegedly paid by the prospective admission candidates for the post-UTME examinations at UNIZIK?
In your opinion, do you think that UNIZIK should refund the candidates since the Post UTME examinations have now been replaced?
