School Resumption: Finally, FG Announces Reopening Of All Schools (Details)

The Federal Government of Nigeria has finally released the directives for schools across the country to safely reopen their gates for resumption of students, saying that all school administrators are approved to fully reopen all school in the country.


LmNews recall that Schools nationwide had been closed due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country and in order to avoid the viral spread of the virus amongst students.


Also recall that authorities of states like Lagos, Oyo, Kano, and Enugu have already announced the dates for the reopening of schools in their states, prior to the official announcement made by the FG.


However, the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu has of today during a press briefing in Abuja announced that all institutions in the country should ensure that they strictly adhere to the guidelines and safety measures implemented for the safe reopening of schools which had earlier been announced by the presidential task force.


In his announcement today, he mentioned that all the Unity Schools in Nigeria are approved to reopen schools by October 12, "while states and private schools will determine their own modalities of reopening."
