The federal University of Ilorin was established in 1975 by the federal government of Nigeria. It is located at Kwara state. It is a public institution for learners. Ever since it has been established, they have produced reputable alumnis in the university.
However there are some tough departments in University of ilorin which is difficult for Students to pass. The following are the toughest department in University of ilorin:
1.Physics department: this is one of the toughest department In unilorin. I have actually seen a guy who is very brilliant who actually finished from Unilorin with a pass. Some lecturers are really saddists in this department. Even engineering student respect this department. And it is the mother of geophysics.
2. Chemistry: It is also one of the toughest department in Unilorin to student. If you see any chemist, respect them seriously. They are really trying. To get a good grade in this department is very tough.
3. Performing Arts: this is also one of the toughest department in Unilorin. Thumbs up to those studying this course. They are always doing rehearsals day and night. Sometimes they don't really leave campus due to rehearsals.
4. Political science: it is also one of the toughest departments in Unilorin. It is very difficult to get good grades as a political scientists. They have to read textbooks and many others even more than some law students.
5. Biochemistry: this is also one of the toughest departments in Unilorin. Students always read day and nights to pass in this department. Even Medical students fear their courses.
