Joint Admission and Matriculation Board is the board empowered by law to give admissions to prospective students into tertiary institutions after they must have passed the test set by the board.
JAMB spokesman Fabian Benjamin has come out on Sunday to explain the guidelines given to the heads of the tertiary institutions. He declared that the heads of the tertiary institutions were directed to commence giving out admissions to deserving students from August 21, 2020.
The guidelines specified that first and second choices admission should be the ones to be started from 21 August to a later date to be communicated after the ministry of education decides.
The guidelines also warned the institutions against collecting more than N2000 for post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination screening.
The delay in the release of the guidelines and continued closure of schools was as a result of the corona virus pandemic that is threatening the lives everyone in the world.
