OPINION: ASUU Is Being Inconsiderate For Telling FG Not To Reopen Schools Until 2021

According to PunchNewspaper, Academic Staff Union of Universities has said it supported the decision of the Federal Government to stop Senior Secondary School 3 pupils from partaking in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination earlier scheduled to commence on August 4.

The union advised the government to shut down schools until 2021 to ensure adequate preparations, citing the case in some countries such as Kenya.

I don't know why ASUU is always bad news, they are either on strike or threatening to commence. They don't like to work, and gladly for them, they find an excuse in Covid19.

Can ASUU please tell us what will happen in 2021. Are they developing vaccine? Impossible!

My worry now is what the students will be doing at home.

Do we even think about what the private school teachers will be feeding on?

Do we even realise that lot's of students are out there hawking and playing around the street.

Do we even know wen the curve will be flatten?

What a shame!

When has ASUU started showing concern to the ordinary Nigerian students? All they care about is their welfare and pockets, the Federal Government should please employ new staff and send students to school in September.

ASUU is becoming unreasonable and inconsiderate union. Instead of coming up with ideas on how to get students back to school they are busy spitting trash, If FG decide to seize ordinary 2 month salary you will see them everywhere in the news.

Considering the private school teachers, some of them don't have any other source of income apart from the little they earn from teaching. If Government stop paying them I'm sure by now students will be in school because you will see them with placard everywhere.
