An Open Letter To All Nigerian Students Regarding The January 18th School Resumption

Federal Universities all over the country were closed in March last year, for a 2-week warning ASUU strike. Then Corona Virus came in, and all Universities all over the country were completely shut down.

We all kept hoping and praying that schools will open once again, but days turned to weeks and then months.

After the Government lifted the lockdown, we were ready to resume, but the ASUU strike withheld Federal Universities once again. And here we are months later, the strike has ended and resumption is days away.

This is not an actual letter, but an avenue to educate Nigerian students on things they must take note of regarding the January 18th Resumption.

We are all aware of the ranging pandemic, Corona cases are on the rise daily in Nigeria, and this second wave of the virus has been predicted to be more intense than the first.

As young people, it is normal to be excited to see friends and classmates in school after over 10 months, many will want to shake hands and even cuddle. But you must not be involved in any of these acts.

You might not know who has this deadly Virus, so you must be conscious of the kind of contact you make with people, even if they are close friends.

Secondly, all students are expected to always take a small bottle of sanitizer and use it at least once an hour, just to be safe.

Also, the use of a face mask is mandatory, all students must make sure they leave their homes with at least 3 face masks, every day, and dispose of or thoroughly wash after classes.
