Imo, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, And Ebonyi State Commissioners Of Police Are Not Igbos, See Their States

Nigeria's Policing system is coordinated and controlled on a federal level and it is in this respect that power is disseminated in all parts of the country and individual states.

It has however come as a surprise that in the Eastern regions of Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi and Imo states there are no commissioners of Igbo decent or background.

These are the commissioners of which two are from Kaduna, one from FCT Abuja, another from Niger.


The present commissioner of police (CP) is Mohammed Ndastusu Aliyu, who is a graduate of political science from the Bayero University Kano. He is the 24th commissioner of police and from FCT Abuja.


Mr Aliyu Garba is from Niger and is the 24th commissioner of police Ebonyi state. He is a graduate of the University of Sokoto where he obtained a bachelor of Arts degree in History.


Janet Agbede is the first female commissioner of police in Abia State and was promoted here after the removal of her predecessor over a deceased officer in the state. She is an Alumni of University of Ibadan.


Nasiru Mohammed is the 37th commissioner of police, Imo state command. He has a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration. He is from Kaduna State.


Bala Kurayas is the present commissioner of police of Anambra state. The commissioner of police, Anambra state command is from Kaduna and has a bachelor degree in political science from Usman Dan fodio University.
