The Executive Governor of Benue State, Governor Samuel Ortom has expressed grief over the rise of Insecurity in the Nation and it's effect on Education.

The Governor stated his worries, yesterday, 18th, October, 2021 in Gbajimba town, Guma Local Council, of the state during the virtual commissioning and handing over of Government Science Secondary School in the town.
Governor Ortom also pledged, on behalf of his government, to ensure the facilities are protected and also Orders that the School be immediately fenced to ensure security.

He said, “Security is a responsibility of every government. I appreciate the recent effort made by the Federal Government in nipping insecurity in the bud, especially in the state, but it should be sustained.
“I also appreciate the effort of security operatives, who are sacrificing their lives to ensure peace in our state. The Federal Government should embark on massive recruitment and adequate funding of security agencies, for the operatives to put in their best in securing the lives of Nigerians."
