JAMB suspends use of USSD code to check UTME results, gives new instruction


The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the suspension of the utilization of USSD code to see the just-released results of the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).


This is as a results of the present challenges being experienced with the utilization of the USSD code by the candidates.


This was made known by JAMB during a statement issued by the Spokesman of the Board, Dr Fabian Benjamin, on Saturday, June 26, 2021.


Benjamin within the statement said that candidates are now expected to go to JAMB’s website to access the results.


What the JAMB spokesperson is saying about checking results

The statement from Benjamin reads, “It has come to the eye of the Board that the result checking on USSD code 55019 is saddled with some challenges. Consequently, the Board hereby directs all candidates to go to JAMB portal to see for his or her 2021 UTME result.


“Each candidate is to follow these simple steps; Visit https://www.jamb.gov.ng.


“On the menu bar, click on efacility; On the page that shows up, click on UTME 2021 Main Results Notification Slip; Enter your license number and click on the button Check My Result.


“Candidates can check their results from anywhere there's internet access, checking by USSD code 55019 is suspended.”

The steps are;


Visit the JAMB result checking portal at https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/eFacility_/CheckUTMEResults.

Enter your JAMB Registration Number/Email Address within the required column.

Click on ‘Check My Results’.


The portal will load your result if it's ready.

It also reported on the way to check the 2021 JAMB result via SMS. It asked all the candidates to send UTMERESULT, via SMS, to 55019 with an equivalent number that was wont to register for the exam (You got to have a credit balance of a minimum of N50 on your line). The result are going to be replied to as an SMS immediately.


However, the examination body suspended the utilization of the 55019 code thanks to the associated challenges.
