Secondary Education

Message to all Secondary and Tertiary School Students.

As a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic, a lot of things have gone wrong as even the economy has taken a serious downturn.

Today, Lockdown has become a household name as schools have also remained closed. Although the Federal Government is trying all within its means to reopen schools, the alarming increase in the number of Coronavirus cases daily is enough reason for the Federal Government to have a rethink since there is still no known cure for the disease.

Bearing this in mind, schools may not reopen this year as the welfare and lives of students may be at risk. This is because schools are places where there will definitely be a large number of students and practicing social distancing in Tertiary institutions may not be achievable because the number of students are more than the size of lecture halls.

A popular saying goes thus; ' Time waits for no man'.

I believe this is a period students should use wisely. My humble advice to students is that they use this period to learn a valuable skill that will be beneficial to them in the long run. It is also important that they learn skills that are in line with their passion since it is easier to excel in what you are passionate about.

You can learn to drive, write professionally, go for computer training, do professional courses online, and many other areas you are passionate about. These skills will help you make money when you go back to school and even after your education.

Students should also use this time to study as much as possible since they may not have such luxury of time when school resumes. Study hard so you can have an edge over others, read life changing books, re-strategize and create a roadmap of what you want from life. Remember that he who fails to plan has already planned to fail.
