Recall that Funke Akindele has been enjoying marital bliss with Nigerian rapper JJC Skillz, who she got married to in London in May 2016. Their marriage sparked lots of controversy as they were without a child for more than a year. However, as God may have it, they welcomed twin boys in December 2018. Ever since Funke welcomed their children, she has not revealed the faces of her kids, unlike other celebrities who quickly show the world how cute their babies are. This has caused lots of speculation.
Many people found it strange, but according to my opinion, she is trying to imitate Michael Jackson. Recall that Michael Jackson’s three children, Paris, Prince and Blanket, all famously wore masks and face coverings whenever they were in public when they were younger.
However, I did some research and discovered some of the possible reasons why they keep their babies' faces off social media. They include the following.
(1) To allow them have their own life.
During an interview with Paris Jackson, he opened up, saying that her dad spoke to her like an adult. He told them that the reason for the masks was to enable them to have their own lives without him. This is also applicable in the case of Funke. She is also a celebrity with a large fan base, and showing her children's faces won't allow them to live a normal life.
(2) To avoid having her children kidnapped:
According to my understanding, kidnappers go for the rich people. But in a situation where no external body knows the faces of the kids, no one would even think of kidnapping them because it is not certain if the kids are from a rich family when spotted outside.
Apart from kidnapping, it will also save them from the wrath of their enemies. Celebrities all over the world face lots of controversy from time to time. Some who couldn't do them harm because of their tight security may plot their evil against their innocent children. So, hiding them from the public would be the best option until they are grown enough to protect themselves.
