It's been reported that singer Iyanya is back with Ubi Franklin's Made Men Music record label.
If you recall, they fell out publicly in 2016.
Some how Iyanya hasn't been at the top of his game since then.
The same year, 2016, the singer was signed to Mavin records.
We weren't used to seeing already established artists getting signed to Mavin records, as Don Jazzy is known for harnessing raw talents and turning them into stars.
During that period Don Jazzy had several fresh artists on his label, from Reekado Banks (at the time) to Ladipoe.
So the news of a major artist like Iyanya came as a surprise to fans.
However, his stay at Mavin records was so short. In 2018, he left the label and only spent less than two years without yielding much success in terms of hits.
Although he parted ways with Don Jazzy on a good note and they still maintain a great relationship till date.
His last hit was still the Kukere he had all along while with Ubi.
Following his exit from Mavin records, the same year 2018, he joined Temple Music record label.
That move didn't yield any major result. Yet again, he left as soon as he came.
Throughout this period not much was heard from him on the Nigerian music scene.
Well, now he's back to Uti's Triple MMM record.
According to both parties, the plan is to join forces like they did in the past for an Iyanya comeback. Iyanya has also spoken about an EP is about coming out soon.
Given the trajectory of his career in recent years, there has been a slight drop in his popularity. His songs don't get much airplays like they used to in the past and he hasn't been in the spotlight.
Regardless of the challenges and inability to score hit songs, there are chances that he can still make it back to the top in the music industry.
Iyanya is a very talented artist and is still young enough to compete favourably with the newer artists.
Hopefully his anticipated EP will be the springboard of his music career.
