Femi Otedola is a very popular name in Nigeria, he is known for his wealth and free spirit but you might also remember the name from his daughter, DJ cuppy's song "Gelato" with the popular question and answer: "Who's your daddy? Otedola".
Femi otedola does not have the rags to riches story but it is true that his hard work and intelligence played a huge role in his massive success story today.
He was born in 4 November, 1962, in Ibadan, Oyo State, to the comfortable family of the late Sir Michael Otedola, a former governor of Lagos State. However his nice backup only served as a stepping stone for him.
Femi is a business man and philanthropist. He is the founder of Zenon petroleum and Gas Ltd and the owner of a number of other businesses across shipping, real estate and finance.
He has recently invested in power generation as part of the liberalisation of the sector in Nigeria, after selling Forte Oil Plc in 2019.
His is married to the lovely Nana Otedola and has 4 beautiful children.
His first daughter, Tolani, is a singer. After she was born, he married Nana Otedola and had two more daughters: Florence Ifeoluwa and Elizabeth Temi and a son, Fewa.
Florence Otedola, aka DJ Cuppy is the most famous member of the family. She is a DJ and music producer, as well as a tourism ambassador for Nigeria. While her younger sister, Temi, is a style blogger and aspiring designer.
Femi has had his share of controversy too as in December 2016, he was embroiled in a controversy where two Toronto based sisters, reportedly tried to extort him by cyber bullying and blackmail, claiming they had evidence of Otedola cheating on his wife, that they would post on a notorious sex scandal website.
Otedola has shown several times that he has a heart of gold through the various kind acts that he partakes in. He has made several donations to the Michael Otedola University Scholarship Scheme, which was established in 1985 to give underprivileged students in Lagos State access to higher education.
In 2005 Zenon donated N200 million to the scheme's fund. Since its inception the scheme has benefited more than 1,000 students.
In 2005, Otedola made a N300 million personal donation to the completion of the National Ecumenical Centre which is Nigeria's primary place of Christian worship in Abuja.
In 2007 he was among a group of donors who gave N200 million to the State Security Trust Fund in a drive to reduce crime in Lagos State.
Later that year he donated N100 million to the Otedola College of Primary Education in Epe. Femi Otedola fulfilled his pledge of 25,000 dollars to the Super Eagles in the match against Algeria in the 2019 AFCON.
A man with wealth like his is sure to have various expensive assets to suit his taste and live a very comfortable life.
Among his various assets include mansions, fleet of cars, a yacht reportedly worth twelve million pounds which he named after his wife, Nana, and a private jet.
Otedola also has homes in Lagos, Abuja , Dubai , London and New York City.
