5 Nigerian Celebrities Who Are Legends And Are Over 90-Years-Old

Nigeria as a country has successfully breaded some individuals who can be considered as legends because of how great their impact is felt by the people of the country, and the lives of people they are still affecting positivity till date.

Today, we shall be looking at 5 Nigerian legends who are over 90-years-old and living well. Despite these legends not being the talk of the town like they used to be, their impact is still acknowledged by many.

1. Grace Oyin Adejobi

Grace Oyin is popularly known as Iya Osogbo, and happens to be the oldest Nollywood actress who retired at the age of 90. She was born in Ogun State in the year 1930 and started her acting career in the year 1953. She is one of the best when it comes to acting of Yoruba movies and plays her part so well.

She turned 91 on the 23rd of August, 2021 and received surprises ahead of her birthday from famous Nollywood actress, Toyin Tomato. At an old age of 91, Iya Oshogbo still keep herself fit by walking round her compound and relaxes by reading her bible or taking a nap. She believes that the secret to her old age is God, which is why she still engages in church activities to help keep her spiritual life active.

2. Abayomi Adebayo Barber

Abayomi Adebayo Barber was born on the 23rd of October, 1928. He is the mentor of the Abayomi Barber Art School and a contemporary artist who is living well and will turn 93-years-old on the 23rd of October, 2021.

3. Oba Saliu Adetunji

Saliu Adetunji is the 41st Olubadan of Ibadan, Oyo State, who was crowned after his predecessor on the 4th of March, 2016. He was born on the 26th of August in 1928 and turned 93 years old on the 26th of August, 2021.

4. Chief Edwin Clark

Chief Edwin Clark is the leader of Ijaw, a nationalist and a politician from Delta state who served Nigeria in the administration of Yakubu Gowon and Military Governor Samuel Ogbemudia, between the years of 1966 and 1975. He was born on the 25th of May in 1927 and is currently 94-years-old.

5. Rosina Umelo

Finally on my list is Rosina Umelo, who happens to be a writer of short stories, young adult literature books and children's books. She was born in the year 1930 and she is still full of energy even at age 91.
