National honours are honours that are presented to great individuals who have distinguished themselves and achieve a lot of success in their area of specialization. The national honours that are bestowed on deserving citizens in Nigeria are GCFR, GCON, CFR, OFR, MFR, CON, OON and MON. A couple of Nigerian celebrities have been privileged to receive a national honour from the Federal Government of Nigeria, below are some of them.

Omotola Jalade is one of the most popular actress in Nigeria, she has featured in several movies and won multiple awards. A national honour was bestowed on Omotola Jalade in 2014, the national honour that was bestowed on her is "MFR".
3. OLU JACOBS

Olu Jacobs is a legendary actor in Nigeria, he has featured in over two hundred nollywood movies. Olu Jacobs has the national honour "MFR", it was bestowed on him in 2011.
4. PETE EDOCHIE

Pete Edochie is a veteran Nigerian actor, he is one of the pioneers of the Nigerian movie industry. President Olusegun Obasanjo conferred the national honour "MON" on Pete Edochie in 2003.
