Nigeria Singer, Davido donates money received for his birthday to motherless babies home

Nigeria Artiste and Founder of Davido Music Worldwide, David Adedeji Adeleke has revealed that he will be donating the money received for his birthday from well-wishers to Motherless babies home in Nigeria.

A statement released by Davido on Saturday afternoon said that he will be donating the money across Motherless babies home across the country as well as the Paroche foundation with the help of a five-man Disbursement committee which will be headed by Mrs. Titi Adebayo.

It would be recalled that a few days ago, Davido called out his fellow artiste and friends to send him One million naira each to celebrate his birthday. A sum of over two hundred million naira was raised and the singer was surprised about the turnup. A total of Two Hundred Million Naira was received from his well-wishers with an additional Fifty Million naira from Davido himself which makes it a total of Two Hundred and Fifty Million naira that will be donated to the Motherless babies home.

The other members of the five-man committee are Professor Jonathan Nwosu who is the secretary of the committee, Professor Yahana Joel Asabe of the Northern Nigeria Seventh Day Adventist Union Conference, Pastor (Dr) Oyalabu of Spring Time Development Foundation, and Professor Uloma Onuoha.

One of the roles of the committee is to compile a list of orphanages across Nigeria and determine the number of children and their needs at each orphanage and share accordingly.

Davido who just released a new song video featuring a South African artiste titled "champion sound" on the 19th of November said his goal is to do the fundraising every year to celebrate his birthday and give back to the committee.

He also thank all his friends and colleagues who sent him money.
