I have spent some time in Surulere, and I can tell you at least a few things about this one of the most popular areas in Lagos State. I had actually gone there to stay briefly with a relative, on a normal day, I do not think I have any business in Lagos when it particularly comes to the choice of a place to stay. I hate noisy environments.
I know that some people are very much aspiring to move to a place like Surulere, and I cannot sometimes judge people with the kind of choices they make. Surulere is both a residential and commercial area of Lagos State, located on the mainland. And according to a census that was carried out back in the Year 2006, there were over 500 thousand people in Surulere, and you can sure bet that the numbers would have multiplied in folds since then. One of the major landmarks of Surulere, is the National Arts Theatre that is found in the district. You would also be surprised that some notable Nigerians who have either lived in, born in, or are currently residents of Surulere include Wizkid, Babatunde Fashola, Teslim Fatusi, Desmond Elliot, Ramsey Nouah, Aliko Dangote, Femi Gbajabiami, Bukky Ajayi among many others.

However, before you make the decision to move to surulere, I will urge you to check out some of these photos below. The pictures above were taken back in the year 2020, after an heavy rainfall was recorded in the Surulere area of Lagos State. You could see how the streets were massively filled with dirt. In fact, most residential areas were not spared.
Because of the above problem, I know literally some people who have moved out of that area. Although, this kind of problem is not usually experienced every time, it is very important to know that it can happen at any time, especially during rainy season. Although, Surulere can be a nice place to be, only if you have prepared yourself for the unknown.
