Before we take look at what she said after she was convicted, let's see how it all started.
On June 2020, Akuapem Poloo shared on social media, a nude picture with her seven-year-old son in celebration of his birthday. This generated mixed reactions as the public frowned at her action. This led to her being charged to court.
On Wednesday, April 14, the actress was convicted on her own plea, after she had pleaded guilty to three counts of publishing obscene material, misdemeanor and engaging in domestic violence. The court had postponed sentence to Friday for her to undergo pregnancy test which came out negative.
Christian Cann, the judge, sentenced her to 90 days in jail each for the three counts which are to run concurrently.
Few hours after the judgment, Poloo took to her Instagram and posted an emotional video. In the video clip, she thanked her supporters and celebrities for standing by her during the challenges. She also appreciated bloggers who were on her side. The lady said she is strong that it is a test.
"Guys, you know your girl is strong and sometimes in life you have to pass through somethings to make you strong to get to somewhere." she said with smiles on her face. The embattled actress said she knows it is a test she has to go through that all she needs is prayers and support. "your girl will be back very soon guys." she added.
She thanked her Nigerian celebrities and those around the world. " I love everyone who has supported me till this." she said.
