I Will Accept Political Appointment If The Opportunity Surfaces- Kate Henshaw

Kate Henshaw, a veteran Nollywood role interpreter and a one-time special Adviser to the Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, has stated that, of her childhood aspirations, is to become a governor and that she’s still keeping the hope alive.

Speaking in an interview, Kate who recently clocked fifty asserted that, should the opportunity to serve in public office as a governor or a political appointee present itself, she won’t hesitate to take such a position.

In her words, If the opportunity presents itself or I am called upon to serve, I will.”

The ‘Chief Daddy’ movie star highlighted are achievements while serving the Cross River State Government to include: the renovations of the Liaison office; sponsoring the laying of interlocking stones in the compound which used to be flooded; repair of Soakaway chambers; clearing of drainage; and accountability for the “little funds” allocated to her unit.

Henshaw added, “I left a healthy balance in the account of the office.”

The actress reveals that being a part of the Nigerian movie industry has been rewarding. She said, “I am happy to be a part of this growing industry, it’s been very fulfilling and rewarding.”

Kate has no regrets at all for being an actress. “None Whatsoever, because some people pray to be who and where I am so I live with no regrets,” she asserted.

Speaking about stardom and her privacy, the fifty-year-old stunning-looking actress said she has accepted the limelight as part of her life but wouldn’t allow the fame to override her privacy. According to her, it is pertinent to strike a balance.

She said, ” It is very important to find a balance between one’s privacy and stardom. I have come to accept that stardom is a part of my life but I try not to let stardom or being in the limelight take over my privacy.”

Henshaw also revealed that she deliberately make her private life not public. In her words, “I deliberately make my private life totally private and it is not meant for public consumption.”

She challenged youths who intend to model their lives after celebrities to be themselves and not necessarily their role models.

Kate said, “It is not really a bad thing to have role models who inspire you, who you want to model your life after but these people are living their lives.”

She challenged the youths by asking these critical questions, “who are you as a person? What are your goals? What can you contribute in your own little way to the larger society?”
