Following the arrival of Songwriter and activist, Charles Oputa, a.k.a ‘Charlyboy' it was reported that several Nigerian youths gathered out in numbers to welcome the maverick singer at the arrival gate of the Murtala Muhammed International Airports in Lagos state.
Reports has it that the 70 -year-old showbiz maestro and activist recently returned from his 3 months vacation to United kingdom. While Charlyboy was addressing the huge crowd, he made mention of a phenomenon concerning Nigerian youths shying away from politics.
He urged the youths to get themselves actively involved in the country’s leadership in a bid to secure the future of the country.
However, he stated that "If the youths are worried about their future, they shouldn't shy away from politics but instead get into it, for the sake of your future and that of the nation".
Charles Oputa concluded his speech in parables, saying that "the youths must not allow anyone shave their hairs when they are not there". He then appreciated the youths concerning their show of solidarity, pleased as they all gather to celebrate his return.
The fans including bike men, carried placards with several inscriptions such as "We love you Odudubariba". This act was due to Charlyboy's role in the Netflix original series, King of Boys, where he acted as Odudubariba.
