So far, 2020 has been a blessed year because congratulations are in order for the new mummies in the Nollywood industry, despite the COVID-19 pandemic rocking the world, smiles have been brought to our faces with the cheering news of newborn babies being birthed amidst the lockdown by our Nollywood actresses.
What made it more cheerful is that some of these actresses had waited for a long period before having their first child, while for some it was their first child immediately they got married.
Below are 6 Nollywood actresses who have welcomed new babes in 2020
1. Mercy Johnson
Popular Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson Okojie and her husband Prince Odianosen Okojie welcomed their fourth child, a daughter, at the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, Towson, Maryland on the 4th Of May 2020.
The couple who are already proud parents of three adorable kids ( two girls and a boy) got married on the 27th of August, 2011 in an elaborate wedding in Lagos State. Prince Okojie broke the news of their new baby on instagram and revealed her name as, Divine-Mercy Ehinomen Okojie.
Nollywood diva, Regina Daniels recently welcomed a baby boy with her husband Prince Ned Nwoko . The actress welcomed her bundle of joy on the 29th Of June, 2020, after she was thrown a surprise baby shower by her friends.
Her brother was the first to announce the arrival of the baby on instagram, after sharing screenshots of the video call he had with Regina Daniels.
Few days later, the couple had their child's naming ceremony, the event was attended by top Nollywood celebrities.
3. Halima Abubakar
Popular Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar on the 3rd of April, 2020, announced the arrival of her newborn when she took to her instagram page to announce that she has welcomed her bundle of joy.
She wrote : "A gift from God and I will cherish you for life, Biggest Miracle, A Boy 3/4/2020".
4. Yewanda Adekoya
Multiple award-winning Nigerian actress and film producer Yewanda Adekoya popularly known as Kudi Klepto and her husband Abiodun Thomas, who's also a movie producer welcomed their second daughter on April, 17, 2020. The actress was the first to break the news to her fans via social media.
5. Ihuoma Linda Ejiofor
The 34-year-old beautiful actress Ihuoma Linda Ejiofor joined the train of Nollywood actresses who welcomed babies this year.
Her husband, Ibrahim Suleiman who's also a Nollywood actor was the first to announce the arrival of their baby on the 9th of July, 2020 via his instagram page.
6. Tricia Eseigbe kerry
The last but not the least is talk show host and movie star Tricia Eseigbe Jerry, the beautiful actress welcomed her first child (a girl) on the 15th of July, 2020, after eleven years of marriage.
Her colleague, Monalisa Chinda was the first to break the news via instagram page.
