Aside being the king of Iwoland, See 3 other things to know about Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale.

Unarguably, Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu1 is one of the most celebrated, respected and honoured kings in Yoruba land.

Aside from being the traditional head as the paramount ruler of the Iwo Kingdom, he is a king with a large and kind heart. His love towards humanity and his hatred for cheating and other forms of abuse are worth emulating. To this extent, I will like to share three noticeable things that Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale exhibits that makes him stand out among others.

1. He is well learned and this has made him more relevant among other Yoruba kings.

Since the installation of Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale as the 16th king of the Iwo Kingdom, he has been using his influence and power to make the Iwo Kingdom stands out. Oftentimes, he has organised several seminars and programs to educate and enlighten kings that still believed in worshipping deities. He has also been invited by some leading organizations and institutions in Nigeria to give speeches on topics that matter.

2. He loves celebrating with people and also loves travelling.

Though there is a Yoruba adage that says a king does not leave his palace since the Iwo of Oba Abdulrasheed as the Iwo king, he has been invited to many grand occasions and most times, he goes there with some of his chiefs. Just yesterday, he was at the wedding ceremony of the son of a former inspector general of police, Abayomi Balogun in Lagos state.

On several occasions, the Oluwo of Iwoland has left the Iwo palace to visit some other traditional rulers in another state. He was also at the wedding ceremony of President Muhammadu Buhari's son which was held in Bichi, Kano State.

3. His love for Humanity is second to none.

As a way of giving back to society, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale has made it an a habit of entering the neighbourhood and giving a little support to the needy. Giving support to older people, widows and schoolchildren is one of his habits.

Before his installation as Iwo King, he used to travel to help war and disaster-stricken people around the world by supplying and supporting refugees with relief materials.
