Big Brother Naija will commence because the organsers can ensure the safety measures and precautions of its participants.
Big Brother Naija season 5 will kick off tomorrow 19th July despite the the breakout of Corona virus and rising cases in Lagos State especially as host state in Nigeria.
One would wonder the parameters used to approve the show by BON judging from the fact that the rule of engagement in this pandemic is social and physical distancing. Can this rule be obeyed throughout the show?
The organizers of the show said and I quote, 'Given the prevalence of the covid-19 pandemic, Multi Choice Nigeria has assured viewers that global best practices, precautions and preventive measures will be followed through out the show.'
One would agree that contestants may be free of the disease but for the reality show to go on at this time is unfair to the fight against the pandemic. It is also unfair to some sectors that are still locked down. Though the number of participants has not been made known to see if it contravenes the number of people who can gather in a particular place at the same time, viewers will be on the lookout for how the housemates will interact without contact. How the Friday Night party will hold, how the arena games will be played without the contestants going haywire.
BBN season 5 is a much anticipated reality show that holds social media to a stand still for the duration of the show. The headline sponsor this time around is Betway while the gold sponsor is Guiness Nigeria. The mouth watering grand prize is #85m with a cash prize of #30m. This is the biggest since its debut back in 2006.
